On Saturday, July 11, the Climbing World Cup delivered an action-packed day in Chamonix, combining the lead climbing qualifications with the speed climbing finals.

In the speed event, Indonesia shone with victories by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi in the women’s competition and Veddriq Leonardo in the men’s event. For the French team, Capucine Viglione claimed the first World Cup medal of her career with an outstanding third-place finish. Jérôme Morel also made his mark by breaking the French record twice during the evening.

In lead climbing, the French athletes also delivered strong performances. Manon Hily, Zélia Avezou and Ina Plassoux Djiga qualified for the semi-finals, as did Sam Avezou, Max Bertone, Pierre Marzullo and Younès Aubert Masmoudi in the men’s competition.
